Machine type
A geared machine suits low and mid-rise buildings with moderate speed needs. A gearless machine gives a quieter, smoother ride and needs less maintenance over time. A machine room less (MRL) lift saves the space a machine room would take, which helps on tight Faridabad plots, but the choice changes the design and the price.
Cabin finish and doors

How to Read a Lift Quotation
Many disputes about lift installation cost come from quotes that were never comparable. Before you accept any figure, check that the quotation states:
- The lift type, capacity, speed and number of stops
- The machine type and the make of the main components
- The cabin finish, door type and door size
- What the price covers: supply, installation, testing and commissioning
- What it leaves out: shaft civil work, electrical supply, backup power
- The warranty period and what it covers
- The terms of the first maintenance period or AMC

What a Lift AMC Should Cover
The cost of a lift does not end at handover. A lift AMC should spell out its scope in writing. A comprehensive contract covers parts and labour. A non-comprehensive contract covers labour only, and parts are billed separately. Neither is wrong, but you should know which one you are signing.
Check that the contract names the number of scheduled visits, the response process for breakdowns, and the safety items inspected on each visit: door sensors, brakes, the overload device and the alarm. We recommend servicing a lift at least once a year, and lifts with heavy daily use usually need more frequent visits.
